Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

I Heart Faces "Enjoying Life"

Photo Challenge Submission

You know how some pictures just stick with you? You catch a glimpse of a certain photo and it instantly catapults you back to that very moment, and you remember it with such clarity...the heavy, luscious scent of magenta petunias, the tangy taste of lime tortilla chips on my lips, that familiar sunshiny sting on the top of my shoulders because I'd been outside too long. Beautiful summer.
I chuckle. This memory also includes a brother in a time-out on the edge of the pool, a fearless sister canon-balling into the deep end {sans her vest or tube, and permission, of course}, another brother demanding I "Look at this!" and "Watch this one!"
And then, this guy.
Enjoying Life.
You'd never guess what was going on all around him. Makes me smile every time I look at it.  =)
I love this picture!

I heart faces May 2012- Hey Girl!

Photo Challenge Submission

Love this shot of my daughter and youngest son as we watched Ivory soap explode in the microwave.
Those eyelashes and that expression...luuuuuurve!

B-I-G explosion! Fun fun fun!

I heart THESE faces- Family Fun

I'm not sure why, but I find myself thinking about one photograph in particular an awful lot these days.
It's of my boys.
When they were little and adorable and always gooey with something.
They were muddy here.
And their favorite part of this mud painting escapade was the super-frigid hosing down afterward!

I heart this picture of my little adventurers, but it's that gr-r-r-r-rowl on my middle son's face that really cracks me up, and the not-quite-sure-about-this-because-I-don't-want-to-get-in-trouble-but-I-kinda-like-it look on my rambunctious youngest as he's still trying to figure out why neat-freak Mama is telling him to paint the muck all over his body!
And our oldest, "Okay Mommy, I made the mess like you asked. Now get it off, please."
I'll never forget that one! HA!
I love that we had lots of fun when they were little!

I Heart Faces...how i heart THIS face!

The Best Face of 2010...

Click above to see other entries for this week's contest, & to join in on the fun!

Honestly, there were soooo many pictures to choose from,
but this one comes back to my mind again and again and again.
I hope it will remind me to look for fun in the simple things throughout 2011.

This is one of my middle sons.
He has the biggest heart, a temperamental artsy side,
& the most amazing, incredible eyes I have ever seen.
At first glance, they appear to be a rich brown color...
but look closer- that luscious brown is surrounded by the most brilliant, perfect green.
L-O-V-E these eyes!

We'd been playing in our yard on an unseasonably warm March afternoon...
I love everything about this simple picture, from the speck of blue trampoline plastic on his upper lip to his sprawling freckles; from his unruly, auburn hair (like his Mama's, ahem) to those magnificent, thoughtful eyes.
And I love how this photo brings me right back to that wonderful afternoon with my children.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Oh how i heart dessert!

Here is my humble entry for this week's party over at i heart faces- dessert edition

I've only just begun to dabble with taking pictures of food
I could never get the light right
or the focus where I wanted it...
now I have my big girl camera, sigh, and it's so much more forgiving for a novice like me!

The boys and I made these goodies for their teachers
this past Christmas

  • Mexican Wedding Cakes
  • Peppermint Bark
  • Chocolate Chip Dream Bars
(I did not make the Ghiradelli, of course...
or the actual candy canes, if we're getting technical!)

ENJOY the yumminess!
