I remember participating in my very first Show Us Your Life Home Tours a few years back, and boy, you would've thought I was preparing to be interviewed on the evening news...IN my living room! I rearranged this and that, whipped up a new project or two (or six), dusted, vacuumed, fiddled with the camera, all in the hopes of impressing the masses. Well, maybe I did, maybe I didn't. But it was still a lot of fun. This time, I did...NOTHING, ha! And since checking out other people's houses is still so much fun, I'm going to share mine and then go poking around everyone else's.
My husband Bill built our mantel last year, and it still makes my heart go pitter-patter every. single. time. I look at it.
Okay, so I don't normally have a floating ottoman in the middle of the floor, but somehow it ended up there, and who am I to disturb sleepy Sneakers resting so peacefully?
This is looking from the opposite end of the room. The view through those windows is one of my favorites.
It's where I watch my four children play and hear them laughing.
Unless of course, they aren't. Then it isn't quite as favorite.
The trampoline is on the left, and you can see the play house we built up on the hill. Fun fun fun!
I've kind of set up shop in (ie, completely stolen) this little nook of the room beside the window seat. I love it!
A peak behind the door....
Just because. People who don't love fabric just don't get it, but I heart this hidden mess. Sorry Bill. =)
And here's one last look from the other side of our family room. The room is quite long, but really narrow, so it can be challenging to decorate and place furniture, but...this is where we gather for family movie nights, "Candycane Land" playing, UNO games, heated Scrabble matches, Wii, so it doesn't have to look or be perfect. It's for family fun!
Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful weekend! =)

Super cute and cozy! I love your craft room, too!
Nice room! I get that stack of fabric. I have one very similar to yours. Your mantle is beautiful!
I love the stack of fabric. Even though I don't know what to do with fabric looking at different kinds makes me so happy :)
