Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Hi there...nice to meet you!

Hello, and welcome to my blog! I'm really glad that you're here! For those of you might be new, I thought I'd write up a little introduction about how and why I started blogging, and the big adventure God is leading us to this time.
I had never heard of a blog until I traveled to Guatemala in 2007 to meet our soon-to-be daughter and met other adoptive mothers who were blogging about their adoption processes. I was intrigued, and I was also weary of the unending questions about how our own adoption was going, so I dipped my toes into the world of blogging in the spring of 2008 as a way to record our own process- that first blog was called Princesa Makes Six, and it was quite a learning experience. Well, for a non-techie like me it was!

This is my favorite picture of Isabelle and me, taken outside our second apartment in Antigua, Guatemala, where we lived for over three months (we thought it would be 2 weeks!) finalizing things. Our adoption was not easy, but it was SO worth it.
Then, somewhere along the way, I discovered other blogs about families and was hooked! On Mother's Day in 2009, I imported my first blog- which made me quite proud, by the way- and created Our 3 Sons Plus 1...Super Cute Girly Girl, where I've written about our family life for the past three and a half years.

Let me back up just a bit more...
I married my wonderful husband, Bill, on September 6th, 1997

Before Isabelle came into our lives, I was the only girl in our happy little brood of men...
Look at those adorable faces!
We LOVE adventure!

I also discovered many new blogs about sewing, DIY-ing, cooking, and a multitude of other things I'm interested in...wow! Just wow! There are so many great ones out there! My blog focuses on my faith, my family, home improvement projects, traveling, crafts, cooking, and sewing.
Soooo, why did we sell our beloved home of over a decade...
...and move our young family into this older, not-quite-our-taste house?
We feel led to adopt again (yay!) and we are all too aware of the high costs (boo!) associated with adopting. After months of prayer and discussion, we took the leap of faith, sold our home, spent 2 1/2 months living in transition with my gracious in-laws, and then God led us to this house- just the right size, and for the right price, so that now we have a little "adoption egg" sitting in the bank when we need it.
As I've mentioned before, this move has been considerably harder than I thought it would be. But we're working hard, determined to make it feel like home, on the strictest budget we can manage.
By the way, I also tend to ramble. A lot. As evidenced by this lengthy introduction post.

I truly enjoy being part of a world-wide community of people who share their ideas, thoughts, and experiences - there is so much inspiration out there! I would be so honored if my little blog were ever to inspire or encourage anyone!
Thanks for reading, and please say hello!  =)
